His WW I draft registration card, filed 18 Sep 1918, records Thomas Everett Caudill, age 33, born 18 Jan 1885, residence Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, occupation clerk in store, employer A. B. McKinney, nearest relative Cloria May Caudill, Morehead, exemption claimed due to disability, one eye out.
The year on the above registration is most likely incorrect. His birthdate was given as Jan 1886 in the 1900 census and as 1886 on his gravestone.
According to Earl McBrayer, Everett Caudill was a travelling salesman who was found shot to death at Clay Lick. (Clay Lick is now just the name of a campground and road near Cave Run Lake. Most likely it was formerly a town in the area that was flooded to form that lake.)
I cannot find a death certificate for him.
His gravestone says T. Everett Caudill 1886-1926.

Her first name is sometimes given as Clara, Cloria, Chlora, or Chloe.
Her father’s obituary in 1944 referred to a surviving daughter, Mrs. Boone Williams of Morehead.
The index to Kentucky death records lists Clora M. Caudill, died 15 Sep 1960, age 75, in Rowan Co., residence same, certificate Vol. 47, #23241.
