The Ohio deaths database lists Hattie M. Brown, born 2 Jan 1923 in Kentucky, died 17 Aug 1989 in Shelby, Richland Co., Ohio, married, occupation grocery store stock handler, father’s surname Caudill.

Elliott Co. marriage book 42, p. 200, records marriage license issued on 5 Nov 1938 to Howard Brown, 24, residence Morehead, s/o Chester Brown & Lillie Morgan Brown, and Hattie Maxine Caudill, 17, b. Rowan Co., residence Morehead, d/o Everett Caudill & Clora Hall Caudill. Surety by William Slusher. There was no return. The marriage probably really took place in Morehead, but I've entered it as Elliott Co. since that's where the record is. William Slusher is apparently the one who is the son of Fell Slusher, since Howard Brown stood surety on his wedding on the same day.

Hattie and her husband moved to Shelby Co., OH (I don't know what date.)
