L. D. Trent was known as "Ranze", and the 1910 census gives his name as Loranzo D. He was apparently named after Lorenzo Dow, a well-known evangelist and revivalist, sort of a 19th century Billy Graham.
The index to Kentucky Death Records lists L. D. Trent, d. 2 Oct 1942, age 79, in Rowan Co., certificate Vol. 55, #27423. I had a hard time finding the actual record; it turns out that it was actually in 1949, and was misindexed.
It states L. D. Trent, age 79 years 10 months, born 13 Nov 1870 in W Va, died 2 Oct 1949 in Elliottsville, Rowan Co., Ky, widowed, farmer, father Harvey Trent, mother’s maiden name Rena Lambert, cause of death senility, burial in Trent Cemetery.
Family bible owned by Lila Petitt Chadwell has entry "Mary Pettit was Born May the 9th 1874"
Her death certificate states Morry Petitt Trant, age 59 years 4 months 9 days, born 9 May 1874 in Rowan, died 1 Jan 1934 in Hogtown precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, married, wife of Ranse Thrent, father Pressie Petitt born Morgan Co., mother’s maiden name Mary Riddle, born Rowan Co., cause of death appletic fits, infomant Ronse Thrent, Elliottsville, Ky. The medical section is signed by Emma Petitt, and the undertaker is listed as Jessie Petitt.
(I had a hard time finding this record until Ancestry.com started indexing the Kentucky death certificates by all names mentioned.)
Rowan County Marriage Register, Book A, p. 26, records marriage of L. D. Trent and Mary Petitt, 20 Aug 1892, by W. T. Hall, witnesses Julis Trent and Martha Trent. In the "at" blank, Julis Trents is crossed out, with no replacement text. But considering that the next entry is the marriage of Julis Trent and Martha Black at John Blacks (her father), with witnesses L.D. Trent and Mary Trent, it was almost certainly a double ceremony at the home of John Black (whose wife Martha, his 2nd, was the twin of Mary Pettit's mother Mary Susan Riddle.)

Trent, Rans, 48; Mary, 46; Anna, 24; Jessie, 16; Ellen, 14; (dau) Philiph; Martha, 8; Sherman, 5.
The recording of Philip(h) as a daughter is incorrect. There are many other families with gender errors. This enumerator apparently did not ask about gender, and guessed it on the basis of name, which didn't work well for some names, especially if the name was taken down wrong.
1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Hogtown precinct, enumerated 21 April, lists on p. 12A as family #206/216:
