Ancestry has indexed Barber as Barbers, which it certainly looks like considered in isolation, but the occupations ending in -er like farmer, miller and laborer also appear to end in -s, and “one” looks like “oney”, and Morgan looks like Morgars. The enumerator (D. D. Sublett) just likes to put backward curling flourishes at the end of words. Even the M’s in the sex column have a swirl underneath that often extends the full width of the letter.
