Mr. Laws lists 11 children for George, but he includes James b. 1792, who was really the son of William, and Comfort b. May 1789, who may really be the dau. of Abraham, William, or Isaac as well, or at least of a second wife, as I doubt Mary Chaplin would be having children at age 51. There are no birth dates given on Law's group sheet for the other children. I do not know on what basis he identifies the William McCormick of Fleming & Montgomery Co. KY with the Wm McCormick who was listed in the will of George McCormick who died in Mercer Co. Since there were many Wm McCormick's in early Kentucky I would take this with a grain of salt. (For common names, land transfers are a better source than wills, since the property descriptions are much more unique than the names. I should check Mercer, Montgomery and Fleming County deed records for the early 1800’s for verification.)
