Rowan Co. will book A, pages 261-263, records will of J. W. Fouch, dated 17 Feb 1940, codicil dated March 1940, both recorded for probate 8 April 1940. The will gives $1 to son Lester, $500 to son Addison Fouch to be used for education, and forfeited to the estate if not used for that purpose within a reasonable period to be determined by the executor, and remainder of estate to be divided equally between children Audra Fouch, Ruby Fouch, Harris Burl Fouch, Reba Fouch Caskey, Cledith Fouch Johnson, Nola Fouch Hayes, and Addison Fouch. Executor to be his brother, Thomas E. Fouch. The codicil stipulates that should any beneficiary take possession of any portion of the estate before it is legally divided, the bequest to that person shall be reduced to $1. Witnesses to the original will were Mrs. Sue Fugate and Wm H. McBrayer, witnesses to the codicil were J. M. Butler and Stella Crosthwaite.

Her death certificate (Vol. 63, #31427) states Linnie Fouch, age 49 years 11 months 27 days, born 30 Jan 1890 in Rowan Co., died 3 Dec 1939 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, married, wife of John Fouch, age 59, father John Peititt, mother Malasa Clark, both born in Rowan Co., cause of death gangrene of foot due to diabetic mellitis, informant John Fouch, burial in Fouch Cemetery.

Her gravestone has the dates 30 Jan 1890 to 4 Dec 1839. Her sister Gipsy’s death records and gravestone have Gypsy’s birthdate as 15 Jan 1890, though, so at least one of them must be incorrect.

Rowan Co. marriage book 6, p. 149 records John W. Fouch, 30, s/o Walter and Martha Fouch, married Lennie Petit, 17, d/o John & Malissie Petit, on 20 Mar 1907 at bride's residence by Harvey Trent, witnesses W. S. Fouch and Maude Fouch. It is listed as his 3rd marriage, her first. Both spouses and their parents born in Rowan Co.

1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Hogtown, E.D. 156, p. 16B, taken 7 May, records as family #275:
Fouch, John W., 33, farmer; Liney, 20; married 3 years, his 2nd marriage, her first, Liney mother of one child, living; son Hobert L., 10; son Audrey V., 1. Petit, Frank, brother-in-law, 18. All family members born in Kentucky.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, magisterial district #3, p. 234B, lists as family #286/289:
Fouch, John, 45, farmer; Linda, 30, wife; Audra, 11, dau; Burl, 9, son; Ruby, 7, dau; Reba, 5, dau; Claytis, 3 2/12, son; Nola, 1 6/12, dau. All born Ky Ky Ky.

(Notice the gender inconsistency for Audra/Audrey. Also the son “Claytis” is almost certainly the daughter Cledith Fouch Johnson mentioned in John’s will.)

1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 7 April, lists on p. 7A as family #8:
