His obituary in the Rowan County News of Thu, Dec 20, 1934 says: J. N. Caudill died on Sat. at a hospital in Lexington. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Callie Caudill, and by three children from a former marriage, Roy Caudill, Winchester; Mrs Burnie Caudill, Ashland; and Roscoe Caudill, Anderson, Ind. Attending the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. Roy Caudill and children Leroy & Lewis; Mr. & Mrs. Burnie Cottle & son Garland; Mr. & Mrs. Roscoe Caudill and son Samuel.

His death certificate records Emmie Caudill, age 48 years 6 months 2 days, born 8 Aug 1873 in Ky, died 18 Feb 1922 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, married, father Abel Caudill, mother’s maiden name field blank, cause of death chronic interstitial nephritis, informant blank, burial in Caudill Cemetery.
