Her obituary in the Morehead News informed “Mrs. Daisy Margaret Rice Kidd, 86, of Rt. 6, Morehead, died Saturday, Nov. 7, at the St. Claire Medical Center. Born in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late James and Zillie Sturgill Rice. Her husband, Lee Kidd, died in 1972. Mrs. Kidd was a member of the Brinegar Church of God. She is survived by two sons, Lewra Kidd, Salt Lick, and Marvin A. Kidd, four daughters, Lenora Whitt, Nema Sloan, Stella Lewis and Elizabeth Buckler, all of Morehead. Two brothers, Melvin Rice, Morehead, and Homer Rice, Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Goldie Kidd and Bertlee Johnson, both of Morehead; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Geneva Kidd, and two sons, James Lowren Kidd and Lawrence M. Kidd, preceded her in death. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Mike Clark and Elijah Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery.”
