John does not appear on the 1920 census with his wife and children, but he must have died after 1922, most likely in Indiana, because he was the informant on the death certificate of his son Ollie (also Flora is listed as married in 1920, not widowed.)

He was probably really born later than 1867, since he is listed as age 2 in the 1870 census, and age 10 in 1880.
1910 census of Bath Co., Ky, White Sulphur precinct, enumerated 27 April, lists on p. 8B as family #3:

(John, Flora, & Ollie seem to have aged by 12 or 13 yrs in the decade, and Sarah, Asa & Clara by only 7 or 8 yrs, so the ages for the younger children should be considered only approximate. Since Clara is really 10, Charley, Johnnie & Elmer are likely to also be about a year older than listed.)

Although Flora is listed as married rather than widowed or divorced, there is no husband in the household.
