Barbara (Pettit) Houck gives Sarah's year of birth as 1866, apparently from her marriage record (cited as Fleming Co. courthouse Book T, p. 302), but the 1870 census lists her as age 9 and the 1880 census as age 19, so it is very likely that she was really born in 1860 or 1861.

Her death certificate records Sallie Jones, age 54, born Aug 1861 in Bracken Co., Ky, died 17 Feb 1915 in Fleming Co., Ky, married, father Jno Petitt, mother’s maiden name McGill, both born in Ky, cause of death tuberular abscess of femur, informant George Frisby, Grange City, Ky.

She may be the same person as the Sally Pettit who was the mother of James Tobe Pettit.
