His death certificate (Vol. 45, #22191) states Peter Quesenberry, age 76, farmer, born in Virginia (birthdate field blank), died 9 July 1919 in Rowan Co., father Andrew Quesenberry, mother’s maiden name Abigail Banks, both born in Virginia, cause of death cerebral thrombosis, informant field blank, burial in Lee Cemetery, Morehead.

Names of Peter’s wives and the birth and death dates for Ida Bell and Lillian are from a query by Janet Payne Randall of 847 West Gate Drive, Eureka, CA 95501, published in Cox-Phillips Newsletter, Vol. 5, No. 2, p. 50. She also has the note "Possibly a son also from this marriage." According to her, Peter moved to Morehead in 1904.

1900 census of Floyd Co., Virginia, Indian Valley township, enumerated 7 June, lists on p. 5B as family #83/85:
Quesenbery, Peter, 54, divorced, b. Apr 1845, farmer; Fulture, Martha A., servant, 30, b. Apr 1870, single, mother of 3 children, 1 living; Quesenbery, Lillie R., dau, 3, b. June 1896. All born Va/Va/Va.

1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, p. 186B-187A, enumerated 4 May, lists as family #222/224:
Quesinberry, Peter, 65, 2nd marriage, married 5 years, Va Va Va; Charlotte, wife, 35, 1st marriage, mother of 4 children, all living, Ky Ky Ky; Lillie, dau, 13, Va Va Va; Dickson, Julia D., dau, 12, Ky Ky Ky; Dickson, Minnie, dau, 7, Ky Ky Ky; Quesinberry, Walter, son, 3, Va Va Va; George W., son, 2/12, Ky Va Ky.

Although it is listed as a first marriage for Charlotte, it was really her second (and possibly Peter’s third, although it is uncertain whether he was married to the mother of Lillian and Ida.)

Charlotte’s son Walter’s death certificate lists his mother’s maiden name as Charlotte Stamp.

Her death certificate (vol. 56, #27971) states Charolette Mabry, age 64 years 10 months 3 days, birthdate not filled out, died 31 Dec 1942 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, widowed (which is curious since William Samuel Mabry was still alive, although her previous two husbands were not), father Davie Stamp, mother’s maiden name Mariah Strainer, both born in Ky, cause of death chronic colitis, informant Walter Quesnberry.

She is buried as Charlotte Quesinberry, 1876-1942, under a joint stone with Peter.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Brushy Fork precinct, p. 167A, lists as family #96 (next door to Lawson Quesinberry):
Quesinbury, Charlotte, head, widowed, 42, Ky Ky Ky; Dickerson, Julia, 23, dau, widowed, Ky Ky Ky; Quesinbury, Walter, 14, son, Ky Ky Ky; Allen, 10, son, Ky Ky Ky. (The father’s place of birth for Walter and Allen is incorrect. Although Julia is listed as widowed, her surname was Dickerson in 1910 when she was listed as 12 and single as well.)

1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 8 Apr, lists on p. 3A as family #42/44:

There is no marriage on record for them in Rowan Co.
