1860 census of Boone Co., Virginia, enumerated 23 July, lists on p. 102 as family #651:
Henry P. Clark, 38, lumbering, b. Ky; Rhoda Jane, 19, b. Tazewell Co., Va; Viola, 3; Rosaliah, 1; Ira L. Clarke, 28; James Sanson, 24; Carter T. Clarke, 18; Julia Ann, 11. Viola through Julia Ann all b. Logan Co., Va.
Carter and Julia Ann are children of Henry’s brother Joseph M. Clark and Lucinda Mead. Three households later is a Wilson family with three more Clarks, including Joseph’s son Henry. (It was helpful of this enumerator to include counties. :) )
1870 census of Logan Co., West Virginia, Hardy precinct, Rich Creek P.O., enumerated 10 Aug, lists on p. 21 as family #171:
Clark, Henry P., 48, merchant; Jane, 29; Viola, 14; Matilda J., 12; Henry P., 9; Allice, 3; Albert, 1. The youngest two born in W.Va, others in Virginia. (This probably does not indicate that they moved, but that this enumerator was being more correct than most in not entering dates before 1863 as occuring in West Virginia.)
Matilda J. is apparently the same daughter listed as Rosaliah in 1860.
