Morgan Co. birth report to the Kentucky state auditor for 1857 lists Lydia Dehart, born 1 June 1857 in Sandy, Morgan Co., Ky, father Thomas Dehart, mother’s maiden name Patience Brown.

Her death certificate (Vol. 11, #5281) records Lydia E. Skaggs, age 54 years 5 months 10 days, born 11 Aug 1860 in Morgan Co., Ky, died 21 Feb 1915 in Rowan Co., Ky, married, father Thomas Dehart, mother’s maiden name Patience K. R. A. (or S.) Brown, both born in Ky, cause of death pyloric stenosis with probably gastric carcinoma, informant blank, burial in McBrayer Cemetery.

The reported birthdate conflicts with Morgan Co. birth records and with the censuses, where she was listed as age 2 in 1860 and age 13 in 1870.

In the 1880 census, they are living with William’s parents in Lawrence Co., Ky.
