Census Notes for John Milligan & Sarilda “Rilda” Margaret (Family)
1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 24 April, lists on p. 12A as family #199/221:
Black, John M., 36, age at first marriage 19, farming; Rilda, wife, 35, age at first marriage 19; Nina M., dau, 11; Anna Lee, dau, 9; Robert J., son, 6; James M., son, 3 11/12; Elsie (illegible middle name), dau, 1 5/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The middle names for Anna and Elsie have been crossed out (since only initials were supposed to be recorded), and are therefore hard to read. Ancestry has transcribed Elsie’s middle name as Lavon, but it looks more like Lerna to me. Since the birth index gives her middle initial as F, it may be Fern.
