In 1870 he was listed in Cross Roads precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, as age 25, saw mill hand, boarder with the widowed Lucetta Louder. He appears to be single, but he must have married shortly afterwards, as the 1900 census claims that Daniel and Mary had been married for 31 years.

This family is no known relationship to me. I am entering them into my database because many of the other Royse families in Rowan Co. are, including the descendants of William Royse and George Ann Riddle, the descendants of Fleming Royse and Martha Pelfrey, and possibly the descendants of Benjamin Royse and Barbary Jones. So I want to be able to look up all the local Royse’s in my database to see where they fit.

I cannot find this family in the 1880 census.
