The annual births report to the state auditor for 1878 records Amandy P. J. Royse, born 18 Dec 1878 in Rowan Co., father Daniel F. Royse born in Fleming Co., mother’s maiden name Mary J. Cook born in Bath Co.
Her death certificate records Anna A. Ward, age 65 years 11 months 5 days, born 3 Dec 1879 in Ky, died 8 Nov 1944 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, married, wife of Francis M. Ward, age 76, father Daniel Royse, mother’s maiden name Mary J. Cook, both born in Ky, cause of death hypertensive heart disease, informant Francis Ward, Morehead, Ky, R#1, burial in Sharkey, Rowan Co., Ky.
The reported birthdate is incompatible with the May 1879 date reported for her brother Joseph. The 1900 census gives her birthdate as Dec 1877. (I have not found the family in the 1880 census.)
Her gravestone records her name as Anna M. Ward, with the dates Dec 3, 1878 - Nov 8, 1944. (The M probably stands for Mandy.)
