I could not find Andrew or Andy Sparks in either the Kentucky Death index or the Social Security Death index. He probably did not have a SSN, and perhaps either died outside KY, or was misindexed.

Nor could I find a marriage record for Andy Sparks & Nancy. I checked 1945-1956 for Rowan, Elliott and Morgan Co. I should check Bath Co. If the family story is true that she was in her 90's at her fourth wedding, then the date would probably be 1954 or 1955.

Her death certificate records Nancy Ann Sparks, age 68 years 11 months 21 days, birthdate blank, born in Elliott Co., residence Gimlet, Ky, died 10 Sep 1938 in Sinking precinct, Elliott Co., Ky, married, wife of A. J. Sparks, father John Mays, mother’s maiden name Celia Slusher, both born in Kentucky, cause of death tuberculosis, informant A. J. Sparks, Gimlet, Ky, burial in home cemetery.

(The age at death would imply a birthdate of 19 Sep 1869, but age at death figures are often wrong. Her birthdate was listed as August 1869 in the 1870 census, and as Oct 1869 in the 1900 census.)

1920 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Moccasin precinct, enumerated 15 Jan, lists on p. 5B as family #78:
Sparks, Andy, 43, farmer; Nancy, wife, 45. Both born Ky Ky Ky (although it should be Ky Ky Va for Nancy.)

I cannot find this couple in the 1930 census.
