In 1900 he was recorded in Magoffin Co., Ky with his son John as Jary Easterling, father, age 68, b. Apr 1842, Ky Va Va, widowed. Note that the reported age and birthdate are inconsistent; an age of 68 would imply a birth date in 1832, which matches earlier census records. Someone must have subtracted wrong.
