His death certificate records Flem Royse, age about 72, birthdate unknown, died 22 May 1922 in Rowan Co., occupation farmer, father Benjamin Royse, mother’s maiden name unknown, cause of death tuberculosis, informant Ben Royse Jr., Elliottsville, Ky, burial in Williams Cemetery.
Notes for Martha Pelfrey
Her gravestone, a double stone with the names F. M. Royse and Martha Royse, has the dates 16 Oct 1862 to 22 May 1922, but that date of birth is very inconsistent with census records.
I cannot find her in the Kentucky death records. She may have died out of state and her body returned for burial, or the date of death on the stone may be incorrect as well.
