His year of death is from his gravestone. I cannot find him in the Kentucky death records. (There was a Harvey Brown who died 29 Mar 1925 in Jefferson Co., but that one was born in 1858 and was the son of Peter and Hannah Brown.)

In 1870 he was listed as Harvey Brown, age 18, saw mill hand, living with his mother and stepfather John J. Cassity in Rowan Co.

Her gravestone in New Alfrey Cemetery has her name as Linda Brown, with the death date 1896 and no birth date. But her daughter Cordelia is listed in the 1900 census as age 3 born May 1897. So either Linda really died in 1897, or Cordelia was really born in 1896. I suspect the latter.

Morgan Co. marriage records list the marriage on 6 Aug 1874 of Harvey N. Brown to Malinda Hardin, witnesses J. Z. Hardin and John B. Hardin, at John B. Hardin’s by W. W. Cox.

1880 census of Morgan Co., KY, district 87, taken in June, lists on p. 12 as family #97:
Brown, H. N., 26, laborer; Malinda, 23, wife; Martha, 4, dau; Ann, 2, dau; Chas, 5/12, born Dec., son. All born Ky Ky Ky.
