The curious thing is that there is no match for this child in the 1850 census. The only two boys listed in 1850, John and Daniel, were still alive in 1860. I wonder if it is a mistaken redundant report of Elizabeth’s death, with the gender and date wrong? Either that, or perhaps the age should be 4, or 14 months. (These vital stats reports from the 1850’s to 1870’s were compiled from reports turned in by doctors, midwives, amd ministers during the spring of one year for all the births, deaths, marriages and funerals they had attended during the prior calendar year, and often either they kept poor notes with no year recorded so that it got interpreted as the wrong year, or their notes were misread by the clerk. You also sometimes had two different people reporting the same event differently.)
