In 1880 she was living with her daughter Louisa and son-in-law John Parker, with her marital status listed as divorced.

Rowan County Death Records, on LDS microfilm #216,839, record several deaths in the late 1850’s for children of Fowler Nickell: Elzabeth Nickell, died 27 May 1856, age 15 years, residence Lower Fork Sandy, cause of death fits; E. Nickell, male, died 15 May 1857, age 14 years, cause of death fits; R. Nickell, female, died 10 Oct 1857, age 9 years 0 months, cause of death scarlet fever.

1850 census of Morgan Co., Ky, enumerated 5 Aug, lists on p. 25 as family #150:
Fowler Nickell, 32, farmer; Nancy, 29; Claresa, 13; Elizabeth, 12; John, 7; Rebecca, 4; Daniel, 2.

The ages for both Claressa and Elizabeth seem to be inflated by 2 or 3 years. Clarissa’s death record gives her birthdate as 8 Feb 1839, and consisdering that Fowler and Nancy were married in July 1838, it is probably correct. Elizabeth’s death record listed her as age 15 at her death in May 1856.

1860 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead P.O., enumerated 7 June, lists on p. 9 as family #66:
Fowler Nickell, 43, farmer; Nancy J., 40; John J., 16; Daniel B., 12; Nancy Jane, 6; Louisa, 5; Julyann, 3; Manerva E., 8/12. All born in Kentucky.

1870 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Christy Creek precinct, enumerated 10 June, lists on p. 8 as family #45:
Nickell, Fowler, 50; Julianna, 12; Minerva, 10; Samuel, 8; Epperheart, John, 11; Annie, 2. All born in Kentucky.

John and Annie Epperhart are the children of Fowler’s niece Rutha Nickell, daughter of his brother John. Rutha died in 1869.
