The Centennial Edition of the Rowan County News contains an article written by Chester Vernon Alfrey which lists among the children of A. J. McKenzie Sr. & Louisa Alfrey “W. M. W. who married Laura Johnson the first time, Nora Ramey the second time and Lily Ramey the third time.”

Rowan Co. marriage records, though, record the maiden name of Wallace McKenzie’s second and third wives as Haney, not Ramey.

Her death certificate records Lillie June McKenzie, age 45 years 9 months 14 days, born 4 June 1870 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 18 March 1916 in Salt Lick, Bath Co., Ky, married father John Haney, born in Morgan Co., Ky, mother’s maiden name Mary E. Johnson, born in Rowan Co., Ky, cause of death carcinoma of uterus, informant Wallace McKenzie, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Jones Cemetery, Salt Lick.

Rowan Co. marriage book A, b. 104, records the marriage of W. W. McKenzie and Lily Haney on 21 Nov 1896.
