His death certificate records Kelly Cornette, age 63 years 7 months 10 days, born 29 Dec 1889 in Bangor, Ky, died 9 Aug 1953 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, residence same, occupation farmer, widowed, father William Cornette, mother’s maiden name Mary Welch, cause of death bronchpneumonia, informant Stanley Cornette, burial in Cornette family cemetery.

I cannot find any death record or burial record for her, but she probably died in childbirth on 15 Feb 1919. The Kentucky birth index lists a birth for Kelly Cornette in Rowan Co. on that date, mother’s maiden name Cordie Collins.

Stillborn children (as well as other children who are unnamed at the time the birth is registered) are indexed under the name of the father, regardless of gender. There is no grandchild named Kelly, nor any baby age 1, listed with the other children of Kelly and Cordie in the 1920 census. So this birth record probably indicates a stillborn child.

There is no corresponding entry in the death index, however. (Not even looking at all 1919 and 1920 deaths in Rowan Co.)

I have not found Kelly in 1920, but his children were living with Kelly’s father:
