The Kentucky Death index lists Mary D. Cornette, age 83, died 9 July 1950 in Rowan Co., certificate Vol. 31, #15187.
Her obituary in the Morehead News says “An 84-year-old woman, Mrs. Mary Delane Cornette, who has spent almost her entire line in Rowan County, died at her farm near Bangor Sunday. She was the widow of the late W. T. Cornette, well known Rowan citizen, who passed away 12 years ago. She outlived three of her four children, and leaves only in her immediate family a son, Kelly Cornette, of Bangor. The other children, who preceded her in death, were Mrs. Asa McClure, Robert Cornette and James Cornette.”

The birth year for William does not fit with the 1870 (age 4) or 1880 (age 14) censuses, nor with his death certificate (age 72 in 1938), all of which suggest 1866 or late 1865.
