His death certificate records Gardner H. Lewis, age 62, born 22 May 1852 in Morgan Co, died 7 Dec 1914 in Panthers Branch, Morgan Co., Ky, married, father Thomas Lewis, mother’s maiden name Nancy Lewis, both born in Ky, cause of death heart dropsy, informant Wallse (sp?) Lewis, Blaze, Ky.

Be careful not to confuse this Gardner H. Lewis with the one born in Feb 1857, son of a different Thomas E. Lewis (1821-1864) and Margaret “Peggy” Lewis.

Dates of birth and death are from her gravestone. I cannot find a death record in either Kentucky or Ohio.

In 1930 she was listed with her daughter Carma and her husband Emmet Bishop as Loucresia Lewis, age 65, mother-in-law, widowed.
