It is recorded as a third marriage for James, and first for Nancy. (Since the marriage records during this time listed mothers of the bride and groom by their most recent name rather than their maiden name, this indicates that Nancy’s mother had remarried to a Curtis. There is no Curtis-Tackett marriage recorded in Rowan Co., but Book 3, p. 134 lists the marriage of E. C. Curtis and Mary Gibson on 3 Dec 1898, recorded as a third marriage for E. C. Curtis and a second for Mary Gibson.)
