Notes for Eddie Frank Hall
His WWI draft registration card, issued in 1917/1918 (the images on Ancestry do not show the side of the card that has the date it was filed), says Edward Franklin Hall, age 21, residence Eadston, Ky, born 20 Nov 1895 in Rowan Co., Ky, father’s birthplace Letcher Co., Ky, employer Kentucky Fire Brick Co., Haldeman, Ky, nearest relative Olive Hall, wife.
He is listed in the 1900 census as Eddie, age 4, born Nov 1895. He is listed in the 1910 census as Frank, age 13. Marvin Hall’s web site has his name as “Frank Eddie Hall”, but the gravestone of William Hall who died as an infant in 1922 says “son of E. F. and Olive Hall”, so I’ve entered the names in the reverse order. There is no gravestone for Frank or Olive in Rowan County. According to his father’s obituary, he was living in Fromburg, Montana in 1954.
He is listed in the 1900 census as Eddie, age 4, born Nov 1895. He is listed in the 1910 census as Frank, age 13. 1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Hogtown precinct, enumerated 14 Jan, llsts on p. 5B as family #91/95:
Hall, Frank, 23, farmer; Ollivy, dau, 18, married; Lee, dau, 1 1/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The relationship for Ollivy is obviously wrong. The relationship line for Frank has son crossed out and replaced by head, and the household above is a combination of Frank’s father Dan, his brother Zora (both widowed), and Zora’s children. Probably the relationship for Frank was originally given relative to Dan, and the enumerator started to enter Olive as a dau-in-law, but then stopped, corrected Frank to head, but failed to correct Ollive to wife.
