His death certificate says D. B. Hall died 15 Dec 1943 in Rowan Co., Ky, born 16 Apr 1853 in Letcher Co., Ky, cause of death lobar pneumonia, widowed, father Alex Hall, mother’s maiden name Clarinda Martin, both born in Ky, informant Frank Hall, Morehead, Ky, burial Rowan Co.

Rowan Co. birth records, on LDS microfilm #216839, list E. J. Cornett, b. 13 July 1858, daughter of Davis Cornett & Becca Christian.

Her gravestone says Liza J. Hall, July 17, 1858 - Dec 5, 1919, Wife of D. B. Hall.

Marvin Hall’s web site lists the name of Daniel Boone Hall’s wife as Eliza J. “Lydie” Moore. As a source for the marriage, though, he cites only the 1900 and 1910 Rowan Co. censuses, which of course do not show maiden names of wives, and were presumably intended as a source for the year of marriage. So I do not know Marvin’s source for the maiden name of Moore.

The obituary of Daniel’s son Zora T. Hall lists his parents as Daniel B. and Lydia Cornette Hall. The 1880 census lists Daniel’s wife as Liza J., and various postings on Cornett web sites and mailing lists show Daniel B. Hall as the husband of Davis Cornett and Bexey Christian’s daughter Eliza J. (None of them show a primary source.) I should check Eliza’s death certificate to verify her parents.

Perhaps Daniel married first a Lydie Moore, and second Eliza J. Cornett. Or perhaps Eliza/Lydia Cornett was briefly married to a Moore before marrying Daniel.

1880 Census of Rowan Co., Ky, Precinct #1, Morehead, lists as family #59:
Hall, Daniel B., 25; Liza J., 22; Zorah J., 8/12. All born in Kentucky.

In 1920 Dan Hall is listed as widowed, age 66, with his son Zora’s family.
