There were three John Gearharts of nearly the same age in the Rowan Co. area, and one in Greenup Co where Nina’s children were born. They were John Herbert Gearhart, born 24 July 1908 in Rowan Co., died 27 Aug 1942 in WW II, son of Charles William Gearhart & Sudie McClurg; John Gearhart born about Sep 1909 in Rowan Co., son of Lewis Gearhart and Clara M. Enix, John Gearhart born about 1910 in Carter Co., son of Zavan “Van” Gearhart and Edith Madden, and John M. Gearhart born 5 Sep 1911 in Greenup Co., son of Woodson Gearhart and Susannah Allen. I do not know which one married Nina Caudill, but most likely the latter.

The Kentucky birth index lists Nina Caudill, born 22 May 1915 in Breathitt Co. (a misindexing of Rowan Co.11), mother’s maiden name Rebecca Caudill.
