The 1876 report to the Kentucky State Auditor lists James E. Clark, age 1 year, died Aug 9, 1876, parents Allen & Melvina Clark. The mother’s birthplace is Carter Co., the father’s birthplace is illegible but is probably somewhere in Massachusetts (looks like Mase brer Gire, with the Mase above the brer).

His gravestone identifies him as “son of A. W. & Malvina Clark”.
