The 1900 census listed him as age 5, born Sep 1894, and the 1910 census as age 14. Both records were as David H. Day, but he appears to have consistently gone by Dave as an adult, even on his Social Security record.
His WW I draft registration card, filed 5 June 1917, records Dave Harrison Day, age 23, residence Clearfield, Rowan Co., Ky, born 20 Sep 1893 in Bangor, Ky, occupation carpenter, employer Clearfield Lumber Co., married supporting a wife.
His WW II draft registration card, filed 27 April 1942, records Dave H. Day, age 46, residence 1140 Battery Ave, Baltimore, Maryland, born 20 Sep 1895 in Round Co., Ky, nearest relative Ethel Day, same address, employer Fairfield Ship Yards, Baltimore, Md.
The SSDI lists Dave Day, born 20 Sep 1894, died Mar 1977, last residence Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, SSN issued in Kentucky before 1951.

The SSDI lists Ethel Day, born 28 Aug 1901, died May 1978, last residence Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland, SSN issue in Kentucky before 1951.
Do not confuse her with the Nannie Hall born 15 May 1901 in Floyd Co., Ky, daughter of Sylvester Hall and Elizabeth Newsome, who was living in Lewis Co., Ky in the 1910 census. That family moved to Idaho, and their daughter Nannie was recorded there with her parents in the 1920 census, still single. Also do not confuse her with Nannie Hall born 12 June 1901 in Pike Co., Ky, daughter of George W. Hall and Florence Wright. She married Walter Mullins on 23 Mar 1918 and died in 1993 in Pulaski Co., Ky. (I mention this because Ancestry.com suggests the records about those two Nannie Halls as “hints” for this one, and too many people accept them without investigation.)

Lewis, John E., 48, farmer; Kate, 40, wife, first marriage for both, married 14 years, children columns blank; Hall, Ethel, cousin, 8. All born Ky Ky Ky.
There are no Hall families on this or the two adjacent pages. There are four other Lewis families on the page: a widowed Nancy Lewis age 59 at #101/103 with adult sons Daniel P. age 34 and James G. age 28, Thomas Lewis age 34 with wife Matilda at #104/106; Edward Lewis age 27 with wife Lulie at #106/108, and David Lewis age 29 with wife Hannah at #107/109. The other families in the neighborhood are mostly Whitt, Fraley, Mays and Clevinger.
Ethel is probably not a first cousin of John, since none of his known aunts married Halls, and besides, he did not have any aunts who were young enough to be having children that late. So she is more likely of a younger generation, perhaps a first cousin removed. She might also be a cousin of Kate’s.
