There was another Jefferson Lawson, born 28 June 1878 in Carter Co., Ky, died 11 Apr 1941 in Boyd Co., son of William Lawson and Esther “Easter” Collins, who married Lillie Helen Moore. Be careful not to get the two confused.

Rowan Co. marriage book 4, p. 139, records the marriage on 8 Nov 1901 of J. F. Lawson, 20, to Amanda Hamilton, 16, father born Lewis Co., mother born Elliott Co., bride & groom both born in Rowan Co. and residing in Triplett. Marriage performed at Elick Hamilton’s, Dry Branch, by Rev. H. T. Adams, witnesses Jack Hamilton and Lastie Lawson, surety by Jackson Hamilton.

(10 days later the marriage of Ellen Lawson age 21 to Jackson Hamilton age 19 took place at the same location, with J. F. Lawson providing surety.)
