I have not been able to find this family in 1870. They are not in Elliott, Rowan or Morgan county.

1880 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Moccasin precinct, enumerated 22 June, lists on p. 36 as household #236:
Stidam, John, 34, b. Ky/Va/NC; Mary J., wife, 30, b. Ky/Ky/Va; Braxton J., son, 10; Jemima E., dau, 8; James M., son, 6; William A., son, 1. All children born in Kentucky.

I cannot find this family in 1900.
