Rowan County News of 15 Nov 1945 “Mrs Serena Stidham, wife of B. J. Stidham, died at her home Monday, November 5. She had been in failing health for several years, but had been confined to her bed only a week.”

1910 census of Rowan Co., Hogtown prec., E.D. 156, page 14B, lists as family #236:
Stidham, Jason, 41, farmer; Serener, 36; married 17 years, 6 children, all living. Mary, 15, married 1 year, 1 child, 1 living; Adaline, 12; Malise, 9; Dewy, 7; Nancy, 4; Isabelle, 2; Wilson, Lee, son-in-law, 23, Wilson, Cora L., granddaughter, 2/12. All born in Ky.
There is a line drawn from Lee Wilson up to Mary, marked "wf", and in the marital status column an "S" is overwritten with "M" (but the surname wasn't changed.)
I have not been able to find this family in the 1920 census. I suspect they may have been in West Virginia.
