Notes for Boone Lacy Fraley
His WW I draft registration card, filed 5 June 1917, records Boone Fraley, age 23, residence Elliottsville, Rowan Co., Ky, occupation farming, self employed, single.
The SSDI lists Boone Fraley, born 15 Aug 1894, died Dec 1974, last residence Irondale, Jefferson Co., Ohio, SSN issued in Kentucky before 1951.
The Ohio deaths index lists Boone L. Fraley, age 80, died 16 Dec 1974 at East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio, widowed.
Notes for Viola Arvilla Adkins
Her death certificate records Viola Hall Fraley, age 49 years 9 months 8 days, born 15 March 1901 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 23 Dec 1950 at Salsberry Hospital, Columbiana Co., Ohio, residence rural Yellow Creek, Columbiana Co., Ohio, father Jim Hall, mother’s maiden name Linda Adkins, cause of death acute ventricular fibrillation due to rheumatic heart disease, informant Boone Fraley, burial in Highlandtown Cemetery, Highlandtown, Ohio.
Since the birth records of Boone and Viola’s children give her maiden name as Adkins, she was apparently born out of wedlock. I do not know which Jim Hall was her father. She appears with her mother and stepfather in the 1910 census as Arvilla V. Wells, but later returned to using the name Adkins.
Do not confuse her with Viola Adkins born ca 1899, daughter of Samuel C. Adkins and Seatta Prince, who married Zachary Taylor Carper and moved to Carter Co. and then to Portsmouth, Ohio.
