The reported birth date is probably off by a year; she was recorded in the 1850 census as age 3, and in 1860 as age 12. If she were born in Dec 1848, she would have been only one and a half in 1850, which is unlikely to be reported as age 3, although 2 1/2 might be. Also, the reported age at death implies a birth date of 20 Dec 1847.
