Quite possibly the same person as Nancy Clay, that is, John may have had only one wife. Since Nancy had a sister named Mary, though, if the Mary listed in the 1870 census and in the 1860 birth record for John G. is indeed the same person as Nancy, then I think it more likely that the records got her name wrong than that she was named Nancy Mary or Mary Nancy.
