Notes for William J. Quesenberry
Parentage is tentative. He appears in the household of William Quesenberry and Sarah J. Cochran at age 16 in the 1860 census, as well as living within three households of them in 1870 and 1880, but he does not appear with them in 1850, and he was not listed with that family in Elza Cox’s Descendants of William Tobias Phillips. It may be that he was a nephew or other relative who was adopted some time between 1850 and 1860.
