Her death certificate records Elizabeth Sorrell, age 74 years 3 months 28 days, born 15 Sep 1847 in Ky, died 12 Jan 1918 in Bath Co., Ky, father John Otis, mother’s maiden name Annie Thompson, both born in Kentucky (although that is incorrect), cause of death anemia, informant John Sorrell, Forge Hill, burial in Old Virginia graveyard.

The reported birthdate is inconsistent with census records, which list her age age 6 in 1850, and age 26 in 1870.
