Bath Co. marriage book 1 lists the marriage of Joseph Sorrell and Phebe McCarte on 17 Mar 1824, bride’s father Thomas McCarte, bondsman Reuben Staten.

This family is no relationship to me so far as I know, but since my GGGG Aunt Sena Hall married a different Joseph Sorrell about 12 years older, I am keeping track of the descendants of both families to help in evaluating records.

Joseph Sorrel: 1 male 30-39, 1 female 20-29, 1 male 5-9, 1 male under 5, 2 females under 5.

Joseph L. Sorrell, 50; Phebe, 43; Pamelia, 23; Lorenzo, 22; Elizabeth, 20; Marina, 17; Nancy, 14; John, 12; Gasper, 10; Newton, 8; Enoch, 4; Thomas, 9/12. Joseph born in Virginia, all others in Kentucky.
