Her death certificate states Millie Jane Sorrel, age 78 years 5 months 15 days, born 1 Sep 1841 in Ky, died 29 Jan 1919 in Menifee Co., Ky, widow, father John Grason, mother’s maiden name Mary Grason, cause of death “dropsy condition and inflammation of bowels throwed off horse caused above”, informant Mary Brown, burial in Powers Cemetery, Denniston, Ky.

According to many online family trees, John Grayson was actually her stepfather, and her father was an Igo. I cannot find her in the 1850 census.

1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville precinct, enumerated 13 July, lists on p. 227 as family #1644:
Joseph Sorrell, 23, farmer; Milly, 19. Both born in Kentucky.

1870 census of Wolfe Co., Ky, precinct 1, Hazle Green P.O., enumerated 24 June, lists on p. 6 as family #36:
Sorrell, Joshua F., 31; Milla J., 28; Elizabeth P., 6; Mary E., 5; John Milton, 3; William T., 1. All born in Kentucky.

1880 census of Wolfe Co., Ky, precinct 1, enumerated 8 June, lists on p. 12 as family #89:
Sorrel, Joshua F., 40, farmer; Milly J., 38, wife; George Anna, 18, dau; Marietta, 15, dau; John M., 13, son; William F., son, 11; Savilla J., 7, dau; Sarah C., 6, dau; Louisa, 4, dau; Melissa L., 2, dau. All born Ky Ky Ky.

This census is faint and difficult to read; some data may be transcribed wrong.

Either George Anna is a new name for the daughter listed as Elizabeth P. age 6 in 1870, or she is really a foster daughter. Sarah should really be 4 (nearly 5), since she was born in July 1875. It is thus likely that the ages for the other young children are also too high by a year or two.

1910 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Beaver precinct, enumerated 25 April, lists on p. 8B as family #112/115:
Sarrell, Joshua F., 71, b. Ky Va Va; Millie J., wife, 69, married 40 years, mother of 11 children, 10 living; Roy, grandson, 16; Igo, Brice, grandson, 10; Igo, Voliney, grandson, 7; Igo, Stanley, grandson, 5. All except Joshua born Ky Ky Ky.

The preceding household is that of their son (William) Frank. The Igo grandchildren are children of Daniel Igo and Savilla Sorrell.
