Notes for George William McCormick
His death certificate records George McCormick, age 76, born 11 Aug 1841 in Bath Co., died 10 June 1917 in Mt. Sterling, Bath Co., Ky, farmer, single, father Joseph M. McCormick, mother’s maiden name Louisiana Allen, cause of death arteriosclerosis and nephritis, informant Judge Allen McCormick, Mt. Sterling, burial in Mt. Sterling.
Be careful not to confuse him with George W. McCormick born ca 1841 in Montgomery Co, son of John McCormick and Ruth McClelland, who married Mary Elizabeth Dean.
Census
The 1910 census for this family is very strange. All of George’s married adult children from his first marriage are listed with him and his second wife Dora, but none of their spouses or children are with them, and his married daughters are all listed as McCormicks. Perhaps some kind of family reunion with spouses and children not invited? Or did George just think he was supposed to report all of his children, even if they weren’t living with him?
1910 census of Montgomery Co., Ky, Spencer precinct, enumerated 22 April, lists on p. 4B as family #88:

Notes for George William & Elizabeth (Family)
Bath Co., Ky marriage book 3 records the marriage on 5 Mar 1862 of George W. McCormick and Elizabeth Lewis.
They were presumably divorced, because George was married to a different wife in 1900, but Elizabeth did not die until 1917.
