Notes for Robert (?) Hill
The death certificate of their son Henry Seward Hill gives his father’s name as Robert. It is probable, though, that the certificate is in error and Robert was really his brother’s name, since in 1910 Leota’s son Andrew Hill was living with a Robert and Sarah Hill, listed as their nephew, age 9.
Notes for Leota Belle Miller
Her death certificate records Leota B. Akers, age 65 years 5 months 5 days, born 10 Mar 1876 in Boone Co., died 15 Aug 1941 in Jeffery, Boone Co., West Virginia, widow of Albert Akers, father St. Clair Miller, mother’s maiden name Beulah Hill, both born in W.Va, cause of death cancer head pancreas, informant Seward Hill, Jeffery, W.Va., burial in Miller Cemetery, Morrisvale, W.Va.
Census
In 1910 she was listed as Leota B. Hill, age 34, a domestic servant in the household of Albert G. Grass and wife Martha in Union district, Cabell Co., West Virginia. Her marital status was given as M1 (first marriage), rather than widowed or divorced, married 11 years, and she was listed as the mother of 5 children, 3 living.
Two of her sons from her first marriage were living in Boone Co., WV, Seward with Leota’s parents, listed as a grandson, age 9, and Andrew with the family of Robert (age 58) and Sarah J. Hill, listed as a nephew, also age 9. Seward and Andrew are known to be her sons since they were listed as stepsons in the 1920 census with Leota and her third husband Albert J. Akers. Since I have no way of knowing what the given name of her other surviving child was, I cannot search to see what household he or she was living with in 1910.
Notes for Robert (?) & Leota Belle (Family)
According to the 1910 census, there were five total children of this marriage, of whom 3 were surviving in 1910, but I know only the names of two.
