In the 1910 census he is recorded in Nowata Co., Oklahoma as Sabert B. Downing, age 26, first marriage, married 2 years, b. Mo Ky WVa, as a boarder in a large boarding house (24 boarders) run by Milton W. Winget and wife Bessie. His occupation is given as foreman of a printing office. There are no other Downings in the house.

The relationship for Artie Page is obviously incorrect. He appears in the 1910 census as age 21, son of Thomas H. Page (age 55) and his wife Emma (age 51), and should probably have been listed as an unrelated boarder.
1930 census of Lafayette Co., Missouri, Dover township, Higginsville ward 3, enumerated 7 April, lists on p. 2A as family #38/39:
