Her death certificate records Adda B. Downing, age 50 years 2 months 12 days, born 7 Sep 1863 in Pike Co., Missouri, died 20 Nov 1913 in Odessa, Lafayette Co., Missouri, married, father Robt J. Martin, mother’s maiden name Ellen Edwards, both born in Virginia, cause of death pulmonary tuberculosis, informant J. L. Downing, Odessa, Mo, burial in Odessa Cemetery.

So far as I know, this Downing family is no relationship to my own. But I am entering all the Downings who appear in the records of Lafayette Co., Missouri, to help me keep track of which ones are my relatives and which ones are not.

I cannot find James or Nelllie in the 1900 census. Addie is listed in Pike Co., Mo, with her parents (see their notes for details) as:

1910 census of Lafayette Co., Missouri, Odessa ward 3, enumerated 29 April, lists on p. 20A as family #325/343:
