(Although Joseph was not born until 1886, the 1880 census provides the evidence for his mother’s maiden name.)

All listed as born Va Va Va, although it probably should be WVa for the granddaughters. (Alma Pease would be a daughter of William Pease and his wife Martha.)
1900 census of Raleigh Co., West Virginia, Trap Hill district, enumerated 22 June, lists on p. 12B as family #204:
