His WW II draft registration card, filed 27 April 1943 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., W. Va., records Joseph Quincy Murdock, age 55, residence Lester, Raleigh Co., W.Va., born 4 July 1886 in Beckley, W. Va., employed by Raleigh-Wyoming Coal Co., Edwight, Raleigh Co., W. Va., person who will always know your address Grady Miller, Lester, W. Va.

The 1963 death register for Fayette Co., WV lists Joseph Quincey Murdock, age 77, died 10 Aug 1963 in Fayetteville, cause of death prostatic carcinoma, occupation mining, widowed, informant Dr. Ralph Frazier. (No other information in register.)

In the 1910 census he was listed twice, both times with the occupation of coal miner. With his parents in Trap Hill district he was listed as age 24 (see their notes for details), and with his brother John W. as age 23:

Her death certificate records Martha Murdock, age 45 years 3 months 27 days, born 16 Sep 1893 in Ky, died 20 May 1939 in Lorado, Logan Co., West Virginia, married, wife of Joe Murdaoh (typo), father Jessie Cornett, mother’s maiden name Nancy Pettit, both born in Ky, cause of death generalized carcinomatosis with uterus as focus, informant Joe Murdock, Lorado, W.Va, burial in Oak Hill, W.Va.
