Be careful not to confuse him with Elisha Sorrell born May 1845, son of Joshua Sorrell and Damie McClain, who also appears in some records as Elijah.
His death certificate records Elijah Sarrell, age 70 years 5 months 10 days, born 10 Oct 1844 in Bath Co., died 20 Mar 1915 in Bath Co., Ky, farmer, father William Sorrell, birthplace not known, mother’s maiden name and birthplace not known, cause of death lobar pneumonia, informant Enoch Wills, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Lower Salt Lick.
The reported birthdate is probably early by a year or two; he was listed in the censuses as age 13 in 1860, age 33 in 1880, and age 54 born Oct 1845 in 1900. (I have not found him in 1850 or 1870.)
