Census Notes for Alexander H. Hall
The best match I can find for Alexander in the 1900 census is an Alex Hall, age 28, born Oct 1871, Ky Ky Ky, single, living as a farm laborer with the family of Francis and Ellen Corkle in Grant township, Antelope Co., Nebraska. The family of Alex’s sister Arta and her husband John Easterling are living in the same county in 1900, and they also wound up in Oregon in 1910.

1910 census of Jackson Co., Oregon, East Ashland precinct, enumerated 23 April, lists on p. 10B as family #255/269, at 137 Seventh St:
Hall, Alexander, 37, b. Ky Ky Ky, car repairer at railroad; Maggie, wife, 27, b. Ky Ky Ky, first marriage for both, married 5 years, mother of 1 child, 1 living; Orville, son, 3, b. Oregon Ky Ky.
If the identification of this Alexander Hall with the one who was the son of William H. Hall and Lydia Ann Barber is correct, then it was really his second marriage. (That identification, as well as the birthdates for Orville and Dorothy, was from correspondence in the 1980’s with grandchildren of Alexander’s sister, Ann Elizabeth Hall, so he would be their great-uncle. They did not mention that Alexander married anyone other than Amanda Easterling, nor that he went to Oregon, but they did have exact birthdates for Orville and Dorothy, way back before the Internet existed. Also Alex’s sister Artie and her husband John Easterling settled in Ashland.)
